Body Beast Nutrition Plan, How Many Calories?

First off, you have to decide if you really want to bulk or not. The Body Beast Nutrition Plan is really geared towards those looking to put on some size. But through the process of figuring out how many calories you need you will figure out how many you need to maintain your weight. So even if you are not looking to gain mass, you can use the guide to help you understand how many calories you should be eating.

Step 1. (100-body fat percentage)/100 x weight = Lean Body Mass (LBM)
For me, that means (100-8.2%)/100 x 196.5 = 180
Step 2. LBM x 10 = Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)
For me, that means 180 x 10 = 1800
Step 3. RMR x .3 = Caloric Modification for Recovery (CMR)
For me, that means 1800 x .3 = 540
Step 4. RMR + CMR = Resting Metabolic Rate Modified for Recovery (RMR2)
For me, that means 1800 + 540 = 2340
Step 5. RMR2 + 600 = Calorie Intake to Maintain Weight (CIM)

For me, that means 2340 + 600 = 2940
So that whole calculation gets at how many calories I need to maintain my current weight.  So if I didn t want to lose any weight, I would eat roughly 2940 calories every day.  But Im not looking to maintain my weight, Im looking to put on some bulk.  So that means more eating!

Calculation for Build and Bulk Phases, Body Beast Nutrition Plan

The Body Beast Nutrition Plan has you calculate things separately for the Build and Bulk Phase (Phases 1 & 2) and then for the Beast Phase (Phase 3) as well.  The first two phases are meant to add mass, and then the third phase is a cutting phase, because when you bulk, you typically put on some fat too.  So here is the calculation for the Build and Bulk Phase:

If body fat (BF) is more than 20%: CIM + 10% of CIM = Calories needed to bulk
If BF is between 10-20%: CIM + 15% of CIM = Calories needed to bulk
If BF is less than 10%: CIM + 20% of CIM = Calories needed to bulk

So since my BF is at 8.2% right now, I need to follow the third calculation:
2940 + .2 x 2940 = 3528 calories

So the Body Beast Nutrition Plan will have me eating 3528 calories, that s a lot!  I haven t eaten that much for any other round, so this should be interesting.  It should also be noted that when you start Phase 2, the Bulk Phase, you need to re-do this calculation.  Your body will have changed over the first 30 days, so you need to take that into account for the second phase.

Calculation for Beast Phase, Body Beast Nutrition Plan

The calculation for the Beast Phase (Phase 3) is different because the Beast Phase is more of a cutting phase.  The first two phases you are putting on size, which comes with some added body fat, so in the third phase you drop your calories to cut  and lose fat.

If BF is more than 20%: CIM -20% of CIM = Calories needed to beast
If BF is between 10-20%: CIM – 15% of CIM = Calories needed to beast
If BF is less than 10%: CIM – 10% of CIM = Calories needed to beast

You can not calculate this ahead of time, because you do not know what you will weigh or what your body fat percentage will be, so this has to be calculated as you go in to the Beast Phase.

Body Beast Nutrition Plan, Macronutrient Percentages

Not only is it important to figure out the calories you need to eat, but the Body Beast Nutrition Plan also lays out the percentages of protein, carbs and fat that you need to eat.  And that differs between the Build/Bulk Phases and the Beast Phase

For the Build and Bulk Phases you should eat roughly a 25/50/25 plan.  That means you need to eat 25% protein, 50% carbs and 25% fat.  Since carbs are your body s preferred fuel source, you need to make sure you eat plenty of carbs.  Eating like this is a great way to add size.  Below is my example meal plan at roughly 3500 calories and 25/50/25 percentages.

For the Beast Phase things change.  You are dropping your calories significantly and you are also changing up your macronutrient percentages.  You will be eating 30/40/30, so 30% carbs, 40% protein, 30% fat.  This should help your body start to use fat as an energy source which will help you lean out.

Eat Like A Beast

So there you have it, this is some info from the Body Beast Nutrition Plan.  I plan on following it very closely because it is designed to maximize your performance with the program.

Hopefully this was helpful and you are ready to eat like a BEAST!

Well, i didn't want to talk about my story, but i really love Body Beast and i'm so addicted to it, and now i can tell that Body Beast is my Lifestyle now & i can't imagine my life not doing body beast.

I don't want to talk much, let's just say that i was a skinny guy that no girl would date even if i was handsome and wearing nicely or something like that haha not being funny.

So my life changed when i joined bodybuilding since 2011, then i started to change my shape and i started to look a bit nice.

i was introduced to Body Beast year 2012 by my dear friend that we both in competition since, and i can tell that i'm impressed by the results, i could say that it tooked me to a whole another level.

I started to learn & educate myself about sets and the more important thing how to prepare my meals, as we all know without food (Protein, carbs & fat) we won't see results, it's like you killing your muscles.

And know thank god with my dedication and hard work i gained more muscles and i got the body i was lookin for, and even my daily meals changed, i only focus on healthy eating.

BODY BEAST SUCCESS STORIES

BODY BEAST SUCCESS STORIES

Regan Davis lost 20 lbs. in two rounds of Body Beast. She entered her results into the Beachbody Challenge, and won the $500 Daily Prize for June 29th!

Tell us about your life before you started the program. How did you feel about yourself and your body?
I was not happy with the way I looked. I was never confident in public. I started the program two weeks after giving birth to my second son. I had gained a lot of weight during pregnancy, and did not want to keep the ''baby weight'' on. I would exercise daily, but ate whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. The pounds just stayed on. Once I committed to Shakeology and a strict workout program, I saw results! I finished one round of Body Beast and lost eight pounds, and I decided I needed to start again. I did a second round of Body Beast, and I am now at my pre-pregnancy weight!

What inspired you to change your life and begin your transformation journey?
I wanted to be healthy for my family. We travel a lot, and I need to be strong enough to carry the baby and my bags for a long distance.

What is the greatest challenge you faced before beginning the program? How did the program and Beachbody help you overcome that challenge?
Body Beast was hard! And with a newborn, I was tired! It took a lot to dedicate 90 days to this challenge, but I am happy with the results.

What in particular did you like about the program you chose?
I can see muscle definition! It taught me the right way to lift and gave me a schedule to follow. It made me feel strong. I gained so much confidence when I finished the program.

Describe the results you achieved with your Body Beast program. Which achievements are you proud of?
I lost weight and gained muscle! Im strong now! When I hit the weights, I can lift more than I imagined I would be able to! I am so proud I was able to commit and finish the challenge.

How has your life changed since completing your Body Beast program?
I am confident and strong! I took first place for females on a bench press competition! That s something I never would have accomplished without Body Beast helping me grow muscles.

How did participating in a Challenge Group help you reach your goals? How did your group support you and keep you accountable?
I felt obligated to post, even when I did not want to. That forced me to get the workout in, so I had something to post about my day.

How did your Team Beachbody Coach support you on your journey?
We talked almost every day, and it kept me motivated.

How did a Beachbody supplement, nutritional product, or program (such as Shakeology or Beachbody Ultimate Reset) support your transformation? What are the greatest benefits you gained? Did you see benefits to your energy, sleep, mood/mental clarity, or digestion/regularity?
Shakeology helped keep me regular and gave me more energy in the morning.

BODY BEAST RESULTS

Body Beast Typical Results Like

Everyone is unique with different genetics and body types (ectomorph, endomorph, mesomorph, etc.)  so results can vary. But the typical person will definitely build more muscle mass and lose body fat during the course of this program. As long as you are eating properly (lots of quality protein and clean carbohydrates) you will definitely gain a significant amount of strength.

If you closely follow the step-by-step workout and eating plan you could easily gain 15 or 20 pounds of pure muscle by using the Body Beast system.

EQUIPMENT NEEDED

Is there any Equipment Needed ?

Since you will be doing real weightlifting during the Bodybeast workouts, you will need to invest in some home workout equipment. But it is not extreme and most of the stuff can be found relatively cheaply online.
  • simple adjustable bench
  • a pull up bar (door frame models are fine) or resistance bands
  • an EZ curl bar (optional but recommended)
  • dumbbell pairs of varying sizes (or a single set of easily adjustable smart dumbbells)
If you are worried about the cost involved, be sure to buy your weights beforehand. Save up for a few weeks or months and, most importantly, keep an eye on your city or town s local classified ads. There are almost always cheap dumbbells and weights for sale by people who are moving out or simply no longer need them!
In regards to how heavy of dumbbells you will need it will vary. I can throw around 90lb dumbbells on my flat bench for 8-10 reps. I found myself using 10-35lb dumbbells for almost all of the exercises except the bench portion. On those days I would go to the gym since I only have up to 50lb dumbbells in my gym at home.

BEAST MEAL PLAN

What Is Body Beast Meal Plan ?

The eating plan is based on proven bodybuilding dieting systems. Like the workouts, it is split into three distinct phases, designed for strength development, rapid muscle growth (bulking), and efficient fat loss (cutting). If you are a skinny hard gainer you will have to eat a lot of food / calories, especially during the (Bulk) phase. So much so that you may be more than a little shocked by the amount of time and effort you must spend preparing meals.

In the Book of the Beast manual (included) you will walk through how to determine what calorie group you land it to get your daily calorie consumption. Based on that you will add or deduct calories to get lean and bulk up.

From there you will know how many portions of protein, starches, legumes, Veggies Fruits and fats to eat each day. The book has a food list that matches up what food item represents each portion.
I ended up in the 2600 range. So, with that I choose the lean schedule. My daily goal is the following:
7 Starches, 3 Legumes or Protein liquids, 6 Veggies or balanced liquids, 6 Fruits or Carb Liquids, 12 proteins and 6 fats.
YOU will have to take time to plan this out the first week. Once you get the meals down you like I would stick with eating those frequently to make it easier on yourself. I also cook in bulk too so that I can freeze meals or put them in containers. It makes it really easy to put together meals to bring into work.

BODY BEAST BLOCK 3

Block 3: BEAST

Here the finishing touches are put on to really tone up and get lean by using a rotation of all 12 workouts.
Duration: 4 Weeks, 6 Days On, 1 Day off
Total Workouts: You will do 6 per week but he does a great job of mixing up workouts from the build, bulk and beast blocks.

How Hard Are The Workouts?
The workouts are not slow or fast paced but right in the  middle. You will have 30 to 60 second rests in between sets. I will be honest here, I am addicted about this workout because it is my favorite. If you lifted any free weights in your life you will love it. It goes back to the roots but it really twists in some new methodology of lifting where you can still get awesome results in  under 50 minutes. You do not need to spend 2 hours at this in the gym to get results.
I would rate the workouts as semi intense, meaning anyone can do it, but it could be challenging if you have not been working out for a while. That first week will be sore for you but you adapt quick and start rocking it the 2nd and 3rd week.
The workouts are 30 to 50 minutes long, the ideal length for stimulating muscle growth without destroying too much muscle tissue via catabolism. There are Build workouts, which tend to be longer, and Bulk workouts, which tend to be shorter. There is also a Total Body workout and a Beast Cardio workout, both designed to burn fat as efficiently as possible without sacrificing muscle mass.
Body Beast utilizes periodization, a proven bodybuilding strategy, and is split into 3 major parts: Build, Bulk, and Beast. The idea is to allow you to build base muscle and strength (Build), then force your body to rapidly increase in size (Bulk), then burn off any unwanted body fat to create the lean, muscular look most guys want (Beast).

BODY BEAST BLOCK 2

Body Beast Block 2

What Makes Body Beast Special?

What Makes Body Beast Special?

The biggest benefit, from my experience, of this program is the fact that it allows anyone to get a gym-quality muscle building workout at home without actually going to the gym. It utilizes several powerful techniques used by amateur and professional bodybuilders for decades. It also incorporates some innovative tactics developed by Sagi Kalev.
Progressive overload, involving steadily increasing the amount of weight you lift day by day and week by week, is a foundation of the program. The other is a relatively advanced tactic called Dynamic Set Training
This involves the principle of pre-exhaustion, where you do several sets of an exercise with lighter weights and then hit your muscles hard with heavy ''work sets'' to cause the micro-damage necessary for rapid muscle growth.
Pre-exhaustion is a powerful method that provides just enough stimulation to increase muscle size without going overboard with extremely heavy weights or very high sets / volume. Because rest periods are kept short in Body Beast you will be getting close to the ''muscle failure'' point in the last set or two, which is ideal.

HOW DOES BODY BEAST WORK

How Does Body Beast Work ?

The program uses a special technique that is really a breakthrough in sport science. Sagi, decided to use single sets, Super Sets, Giant Sets, Progressive, forced, drop, Tempo Sets and many more to exhaust the muscles, engaging more active muscle fibers that boost natural testosterone levels more than ever before in an home strength training workout. This combination of sets is laser focused and proven to give you the results you are looking for.

Here are a couple examples of what the sets look like:

Forced Set

1st set 4 regular reps with heavy weight, on the 5th rep hold the weights down for 10 seconds, then do this another 5 times for a total of 10 reps. It engages both fast and slow twitch muscles for maximum results.

Progressive Set

You will run through the first set, take a 90 second break and then do it backwards starting with the heavy weight set and move to the medium and then light weight set. Pick your weights carefully this on is going to burn!
  • 15 Reps Light weight
  • 12 medium weight
  • 8 Heavy weight
  • 90 Seconds of Rest

This is the new science put to work with old school exercises!

SAGI KALEV

Sagi Kalev, The Beast Creator?

Before the release of Body Beast, Mr. Kalev was not very well known in the US fitness community. He was basically a fitness magazine model, personal trainer, and even did some acting in the 90 s.
In his native country of Israel, however, Kalev is a fitness superstar. He has won the Mr. Israel bodybuilding competition twice and is considered to be one of the top bodybuilders to ever come out of the small country.
In recent years Sagi has become a clinical nutritionist and ''functional medicine'' expert at the Thrive Institute in Dallas, Texas. Obviously the guy knows his stuff and is qualified to help anyone get fit, put on more muscle mass, and improve his or her health. His enthusiasm and expertise are definitely 2 of the biggest benefits of this program!
When the professionals are stuck or want it done, they call him. You get all that in this program and you get it all done in the comfort of your living room!
